Two suspects believed to have been involved in the murder of a mobile money vendor and one other victim on February 12, 2024 in Walewale in the North East Region have been apprehended by the police.
The police acting on intelligence, arrested Zakaria Yamusa alias Vandam and Fatao Issah and are currently under lawful custody.
In a press statement signed by the Director of Public Relations of the Ghana Police Service Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah Akrofi, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffu Dampare has assured some of the victims who are currently hospitalized as a result of attack, of swift justice.
According to the statement, the IGP spoke to the victims on phone, meanwhile, the Regional Police Commander of the North East Region has lead a team to visit the victims in the hospital.
Investigations are still underway to apprehend some other assailants.
