Grapevine information reaching us suggests that there has been an alleged conflict between two tribes, the Dagaaba and Sisaalas in the Lambusie District of the Upper West Region of Ghana leading to two reported deaths.

‎It is alleged that domestic animals belonging to a Sisaala damaged farm crops in a Dagao’s farm leading to the Dagao shooting and killing a goat belonging to the Sisaala.

‎In retribution the goat of a Dagao was also killed by a Sisaala when the animal ventured into his farm eventually leading to the lynching of a Sisaala, who is believed to be a retired agric officer, an act purported to be have carried out by a group of dagaabas leading to the alleged killing of a second person said to be a dagao by a group suspected to be Sisaalas.

‎There has been reported sporadic gunshots and the burning down of the house of a former District Chief Exhaustive (DCE) Kofi Dyaka.

‎Efforts made to confirm the incident from the DCE, Hon. Ireneus Naole who is chairman of the District Security Committee, was not possible as his cell phone was switched off.

‎An equal effort to reach to the Lambusie District Police command was not possible although there has been reported relative calm in the communities of Sina and Dindee, the hotspots of the alleged clash.
