The South of Karni in the Jirapa Municipality,and the North of Karni in the Lambussie District has been cut off due to the flooding of a dam in Karni, the flood occurred due to the heavy rains on the 5th of October 2024.
Some of the affected communities include Deryiri and Zaguo.
The rain started at about 10:00pm on Sunday to 12pm on Monday, blocking human and vehicular traffic.
The assembly member and Chief of the area have organized communal labour to help salvage the situation.
The Jirapa Police Command were at the scene to maintain law and order.
The assembly member of the area, Emmanuel Yaayiri and the chief’s representative, Prosper Folo are soliciting support help from well meaning individuals and organizations for help to deal with the situation.
