Following a recent announcement on Jirapa FM, informing the general public to execute road safety signs and symbols on the Jirapa to Gbare road specifically. A tragic accident occurred today, November 28, 2024, at approximately 1:40 pm along the Jirapa to Gbare road. A Toyota Corolla with registration number BA-2010-17 was involved in the accident, leaving two individuals injured.
According to an eye witness who prefers an anonymous identity, “the driver was moving from Jirapa to Tampaala and suddenly the car summersaults and hit the edge of the bridge and the accident occur.”
The driver and one other person were the only people in the car and both were rushed to St. Joseph Hospital in Jirapa by the contractor (Memphis Metropolitan Construction Limited) for medical attention. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently unknown. However, a preliminary report suggests that it was the ball joint rack that got broken, making it difficult to control the car steer.
Others also noted that the driver is still not perfect as he started driving not long ago after buying the car recently.
Further investigations will be conducted to determine the cause of the accident.
