HON. DR. SAANBAYE BASILIDE KANGBERE.

Hon. Kangbere was the sitting Chairman of the rulling New Patriotic Party in the Upper West Region till his passing on.

He is reported to have passed on at his residence at Adjringano in Greater Accra Region of Ghana on July 7, 2024 at the age of 76 years.

He retained the chairmanship position in the year 2022 after a keenly contested election.

He is said to have been domiciled outside the country and on his return, has been involved in various ventures some of which are mass media and politics.

He was recently at a function in Jirapa to celebrate and remember the achievements of Simon Diedong Dombo one of the founding figures of the New Patriotic Party and a member of the Danqua Busia Dombo tradition of the United Party of Ghana, the main opposition party during the First Republic of Ghana.

As fate would have it, he admonished members and the youth of the NPP in the Jirapa constituency to unite for the purpose of winning the parliamentary seat in the Constituency which could only be done through unity because they were apparent divisions.

He told the gathering he would leave no stone unturned to forge unity within the rank and file of the party which he started by bringing the two main contenders who were vying to be the parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Hon. Nicholas Soyiri and Hajia. Aisha Salifu together and pleaded that they work together in the interest of the party.
