About 668 primary school kids can now study conveniently whilst nine teaching staff go about their duties more professionally in Muofo a community in the Jirapa Municipality of the Upper West Region when they had their dilapidated school building was renovated by some philanthropists from the United Kingdom.
Muofo is a community within the Tizza traditional area and has its share of development challenges and a cross section of the community members are excited that one less burden has been taken off their list of teaming challenges.
Two school blocks have been renovated by a charity nonprofit organization in the United Kingdom known as ATAM MARG SPIRITUAL SCIENTIFIC EDUCATIONAL CHARITABLE TRUST UK. (ATAM Marg) under the auspices of a religious body based in India, The United States, The United Kingdom and other countries that believe in helping deprived communities worldwide irrespective of their social, religious or other inclinations whilst remaining anonymous in their philanthropy.
The headmistress of the school, Madam Prospera Esang numerated several challenges the school has been faced with but is elated that one of their major worries have been solved and is optimistic that teaching and learning will be greatly improved giving the serene atmosphere the renovation will provide for teaching and learning and is assuring the community of improved education results especially with the support of parents.
The occasion was graced by several dignitaries including the regent of the Jirapa Paramountcy, Justice Donglebong Dinah, the Jirapa Municipal Director of Education, Huudu Abdulkaadi Kunaateh the Chairman for the occasion, Lazarus Bayeldeng and the Presiding Member for the Jirapa Municipal Assembly, Ebenezer Ayema amongst others.
Also in attendance were the Chairman of the Morfo Youth Development Association, opinion leaders and community members, teachers parents and school pupils.
All the speakers who addressed the gathering were particular about the maintenance of the renovated buildings, community participation of the management of the school especially parents and taking education of children seriously because of the benefits involved.
The organization also donated some spots equipment made up of footballs and training cones and badminton playing sets.
The project was then commissioned by the Chairman for the occasion amidst cultural performances by the school children and cheers from the community members to the admiration of all.
