The Chief of Army Staff, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah has refuted allegations that he is stalling high level military shuffle within the Ghana Army by declining appointment as the Chief of Defense Staff.

He said these attacks on him are “unfounded and unwarranted” when he addressed soldiers at the Burma Camp, Accra, on Monday, January 15, 2024, expressing confusion and disappointment at the turn of events of which he said is negative attention drawn to his person.

Maj. Gen. Oppong-Peprah went on to state that rumors reaching him indicate there are attempts to harm him spiritually through “juju” of which he said he has evidence and that he is at a lose as to why these attacks are directed at him.

He affirmed that no such power can subdue him and that “jealousy” might be one of the reasons for these attacks.

He says the Ghana Army for the past four years has chocked several successes and that it isn’t his personal effort but the collective efforts of everyone through teamwork.
