Former president and flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama says he is limited in promising Ghanaians what he could offer them ahead of the 2024 general elections of which he is contesting.
The former president is of the opinion that the current poor shape of the economy is making him guard himself in promising Ghanaians what his administration could offer them should he be given the reigns of power to lead Ghanaians come 2025.
He made these statements during a two day tour of the Volta Region where he addressed a gathering during a rally in Hohoe.
Notable among some of the promises of Mr. Mahama are payment of a monthly allowance of GHS 1000.00 to all assembly members in the country which is estimated to cost GHS 80 million.
The tour, dubbed “Building the Ghana we Want together” has seen the former president sell his mission and vision to Ghanaians within the length and breadth of the country for the next four years if given the nod.
