The Member of Parliament (MP) for Daffiama, Bussie, Issa, constituency, Hon. Sebastian Sandaare has supported the Fian Sub-District of the Ghana Health Services, Mental Health Department with drugs following complains of the lack of drugs for patients.

At a durbar held in Fian yesterday, stakeholders bemoaned the lack of essential drugs for patients.

The drugs are expensive in the market, making it difficult for the patients to afford. Some of them have their conditions relapse while others suffer epileptic attacks, retrogression in their conditions.

The NDC communications officer for DBI, Denis Andaban who represented the Member of Parliament at the durbar, donated some drugs, valued at about two thousand five hundred Ghana cedis for temporal use and also promised that the MP is taking steps to procure more to serve the entire District.

He also, on behalf of the MP, donated an amount of 500 cedis in support of the programme.

Handing over the drugs, he made a passionate call on government to take steps to make these essential drugs available to salvage the situation, explaining that no amount of personal donation can sustain the availability of such essential drugs.

He called out government for it inability to clear containers of drugs donated by Global Fund. He explains that a timely clearance of the containers could have made these drugs available.

He urged government through the District Chief Executive to clear the containers for the drugs to be used if they are not expired.

The communications officer also used the opportunity to explain the Mahama Care Health policy to the people gathered.
