The Upper West Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Immigration service, Eben. Yussif Duranah Abdul Moomin Seidu has cautioned that foreigners and indigenes who think that their livelihood depends on illegality should change or the system will change them.

Eben Yussif Duranah Abdul Moomin Seidu mentioned this in the backdrop of some indigenes of the region and foreigners who uses unapproved roots to make their way into the region.

He stated that, the Immigration Service will not allow the interest of a single individual or a few group of people to mad the security of this country. Adding that, “if you are caught you will suffer the consequences in miserably”.

Speaking on Jirapa fm Morning Show on Friday, the Public Relations Officer said the Immigration and the military alone cannot fight the canker, and therefore called on border residents to collaborate with the security agencies to keep Ghana safe.

Touching on the measures that both the security and border residents can adapt to help reduce smuggling and other security threats, he said all indigenes must subscribed to the “see something say something” campaign.
