In a move to boost agricultural infrastructure and investment, in the Jirapa Municipality, the Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for Jirapa, Hon. Peter To-ang, alongside the Member of Parliament for Jirapa, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, held crucial discussions with the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, on Thursday, July 17, 2025 to achieve this.
The engagement centered on the proposed renovation and operationalization of a warehouse facility in Jirapa Yagha, a project expected to enhance post-harvest storage to reduce food losses.
Following the initial meeting, the Agriculture Minister assured the delegation from Jirapanthat a team of investors would be assessing the facility for possible activation soon.
The Agriculture Minister extended an invitation to the Jirapa MCE to participate in a diplomatic meeting with Serbia’s Minister for Agriculture and his delegation billed at a later date.
This forum leverages opportunity for potential international collaborations that could benefit Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Expressing optimism about the outcome of these engagements, Hon. To-ang stated that “I remain hopeful that these discussions will yield positive results for our agricultural sector nationwide, and I am confident that the Jirapa Municipality will also benefit significantly from these initiatives.”*
