An assorted number of furniture has been donated to the Kogri R/C Primary School in the Jirapa Municipality in ceremony.
The furniture compises 114 dual desks for the primary school and 10 tables and 62 chairs for the kindergarten and will go a long way to improve the quality of teaching and learning because the lack of furniture is one of the pressing needs of that school.
The gesture was made by IMPACT NEXT GENERATION, a foreign based charity organization with an interest in bringing about development through promoting quality education in deprived communities in rural Ghana.
Presenting the furniture to the school through the the Chiefs and people of Kogri, the Chief Executive Officer of IMPACT NEXT GENERATION, Dr.Thiophilios Amoako explained that IMPACT NEXT GENERATION is a consortium of Ghanaians abroad but who started life in Ghana and have a passion for improving education in Ghana especially in deprived rural Ghana.
They do this by soliciting funds and other needed resources for that purpose and have been in existence since the year 2019.
Dr. Amoako is of the view that deprived communities especially in rural Ghana be given their fair share of development and this can be achieved largely through quality education explaining that some of their members are privileged to find themselves where they are because they had some decent education and this opportunity should be universal.
The membership of IMPACT NEXT GENERATION is made up of a consortium of professionals, consultants and business people who are mostly into real estates, players in the Oil and Gas industry, large scale agriculture, waste management, the manufacturing industry among other interests both in and out of Ghana.
Dr. Amoaku urged the Chiefs and people of Kogri to be part and parcel of the development process by getting involved in basic but important interventions such as the maintenance of broken furniture, doors, windows, patch work and leakages to prolong the lifespan of structures.
The brain behind this feat, Vitalis N-ekabong narrated that he came a social media post posted by the assembly member, of Kogri, Issah Tamimu, expressing the plight of the Kogri R/C primary school and decided to take it up by contacting the representative of IMPACT NEXT GENERATION, Ibrahim Saraga resulting in the intervention which he deems as timely.
He says a similar gesture was carried out in Ping also in the Jirapa Municipality where furniture was donated to the Ping primary school and that when ever he going about he tries to look out for such opportunities.
Mr. N-ekabong said the paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the Jirapa Municipality, Hon. Nicholas Soyiri where they were privileged to meet with the Municipal Coordinating Director and the Presiding Member of the Jirapa Municipal Assembly where they held fruitful discussions where they requested the support of assembly and the education service in future endeavors.
The event was marked by drumming, dancing and fanfare by the community to express their delight and appreciation.
In attendance were the Chief of Kogri and his elders, pupils and teachers and members of the community.
