A damaged pickup truck of the Bussie Health Center in the Daffiama Bussei Issa District has been refurbished and handed over to the center by the Member of Parliament (MP) of the constituency, Hon. Dr. Sebastian Ngmenenso Sandaare.
This vehicle was donated by the Member of Parliament in 2020 to the Bussie Health Center as part of efforts to enhance the easy transportation of clients especially pregnant women to the nearest bigger facilities . However, the vehicle got damaged late 2023 through a road traffic accident and needed repairs to be on road. The Hon Member of Parliament took it upon himself to immediately fix the vehicle and bring it back on road.
The vehicle which was incidentally donated by the MP who also doubles as the parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress’ for the constituency in the upcoming 2024 election, was involved in a road traffic accident rendering immobile hence posing a challenge to the smooth running of the health facility especially when it comes to referral of patients.
In a short ceremony, the vehicle was handed over to the facility through the Paramount Chief of the area where the MP, a medical doctor himself, underscored the importance of transportation in health care delivery, hence, his swift intervention.
The Paramount Chief on behalf of the community, through his representative, expressed his gratitude to the MP for responding to the plight of the facility and by extension, the communty.
The Chief gave the assurancrnce that the vehicle would be used for its intended purpose.
On behalf of the District Director of Health Service, the acting officer incharge of the Bussie Health Center, Mr Pius Donglabong thanked the MP for the assistance at short notice and that the vehicle will be put to good use.
