An undisclosed amount of money has been donated to the Wuling kindergarten school in the Jirapa Municipality by a charity organization, NICHOLAS FOUNDATION through its Chief Executive Officer, Nicholas Saddari.
The NICHOLAS FOUNDATION is charity not-for-profit organization that supports individuals, groups and communities in the areas of education, disaster relief and support for brilliant but needy students.
The modus operandi of the NICHOLAS FOUNDATION is to collate information on individuals, groups and communities that need support and integrate it into an action plan for future execution.
The Wuling community were however lucky to have the foundation’s team call on it to assess the needs of the school which included lack of furniture for the kindergarten, the need for a decent roof and the renovation of a teachers’ quarters which is in dire need of repair to house teachers who abandon post after reporting because of the lack of decent residential accommodation.
Mr. Saddari after making the donation assured the gathering comprising some community members, opinion leaders, the assembly member for the area, Bamaaka Paul and the head teacher of the school, Alfred Mwinire with some of his staff, of taking a critical look of their needs and how best the foundation could assist with these needs.
The head teacher of the Wuling school, Alfred Mwinire expressed the gratitude of the school and the community especially that the response to their plight was responded to in short notice and that it was timely because the school is centrally located and is accessible to several communities, making its catchment area large.
The team made calls at Duori and Piiyiri all in the Jirapa Municipality where similar donations were made, climaxing the tour at the Jirapa Senior High School, where a domestic fire had recently ravaged the girls dormatory, where it made an undisclosed cash donation to support affected students who lost virtually all their belongings.
