JIRAPA: BAAZU FESTIVAL GALA COMMENCE AS THE DURBER DAY APPROACHES.
The Sports Managing committee of the Baazu Festival has announced the commencement of the Baazu Fest Football Gala on December 20, 2024. Following a call for interested teams across the municipality to register themselves for the Gala.
A total of six teams have taken the bold steps to register themselves for the Baazu Fest Football Gala. These teams are: SC Jayda Bulls, Nambeg FC, The Youth Camp (TYC) FC, Samba Boys, Unity FC and Kontole Yelpoe Stars.
The Baazu Festival is to concretize and build on the long lasting relationship between the Dagaaba and Frafra community.
Mr. James Ziekye a leading member of the organizing committee. In addressing the crowd and spectators at the Naayiri park around 3:00 pm on Friday December 20, 2024 acknowledge their presence for availing themselves to support this event.
He also caution all players from various teams to take it easy to ensure that the games end successfully with no injuries even though there is a reward for the winner.
“The friendship have been there for centuries, already our big men and women in Accra have started, it been well and it is time we localized it for people in Bolgatanga and the Dagaaba land to also have a taste of it” He added.
The first match played on December 20, 2024. Between SC Jayda Bulls vs Samba Boys ended up with Samba Boys conceding with 1 defeat to SC Jayda Bulls.

On day two of the Baazu Fest Football Gala, Saturday 21st December, 2024. Unity FC Vs Kontole Yelpoe Stars kick off exactly at 7am at the Naayiri Park. Kontole Yelpoe Stars suffered massively after they were kick out of the Baazu Fest Football Gala competition by Unity FC who secure 66️⃣ goals at the end of the match against Kontole Yelpoe Stars with zere (0️⃣) goal.
The second match of day two was also played between T.Y.C vs Nambeg FC at exactly 9am at the Naayiri Park.
The Youth Camp (TYC) FC also score Nambeg FC 6 6️⃣against Zero0️⃣ at the end of the match.
Unity FC who secure 6 goals earlier in the day after playing with Kontole Yelpoe Stars later face SC Jayda Bulls at exactly 2:00 pm later in the day to play their semi-finals.
The match ended 0️⃣:0️⃣ and that led the two teams to penalties. After several at terms Unity FC secure a slot to the finals with 7 goals against SC Jayda Bulls with 6 goals.
The day was crowned down with TYC FC playing against Samba Boys at around 4:00pm at the Naayiri Park. The game ended 0️⃣:0️⃣ which also bring the two teams to penalties to qualify the winner to the finals. At the end of the penalties.TYC FC secure 3️⃣:0️⃣ against Samba Boys at the end of the penalties.
In light of the outcome of match day two, Samba Boys together with Nambeg FC has been kicked out of the competition.
The ground durber of the Baazu Festival is set to take place on the 27th to 29th December, 2024. With several activities ranging from street carnival, cruise/food bazaar, boxing, sack race, swimming competition at Jirapa Dubai, seminars, cultural display among others.Mark your calendars to immerse yourself in the Baazu Festival celebrations which promise to be informative, educative and entertaining.
