The St. Augustine’s Catholic Parish in Bulenga Chaggu has commissioned an ultramodern 3-unit classroom block in Tiisa for pupils attending kindergarten in the community.
The project being funded by the parish’s partners in Germany aims at providing a conducive learning environment for the pupils in the area.
The newly constructed classroom block is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to enhance teaching and learning.
The spacious classrooms are well-furnished and have ample lighting and ventilation, creating a comfortable space for teaching and learning.
Additionally, the building is fitted with modern sanitation facilities.
During the commissioning ceremony, Reverend Father John Kpan of St. Augustine’s Catholic Parish expressed his gratitude to the parish partners in Germany for their generous support in funding the project.
He emphasized the importance of education in empowering the youth and building a brighter future for the community while calling on the community to own the facility and take good care of it.
He appealed to the Wa East District Director of Education to endeavour to post competent and hardworking early childhood caregivers to the facility.
A cross section of members of the Tiisa community who were in attendance at the commissioning ceremony, expressed their joy and gratitude for the new facility.
They hailed the St. Augustine’s Catholic Parish for their commitment in improving education in the area and providing a better learning environment for their children.
The community led by Mr Adams, however, bemoaned the absence of potable water in the facility.
He appealed to the District Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament who were represented, to come to their aid with much needed development projects.
The Wa East District Director of education, Ayisha Ibrahim Jinsung, on her part, reiterated the need for a positive maintenance culture and the full utilisation of the edifice.
She pledged to post competent teachers to the school.
The project serves as a shining example of partnership and collaboration in fostering education and development in underserved communities.
